In addition to her prolific career as an actor, Maria-Christina is a sought after educator. She is currently Head of Acting at Wesleyan University, where she teaches Acting and Musical Theater Performance. She has served as Visiting Assistant Professor at Yale University and on faculty at Fordham University Lincoln-Center, Broadway Workshop, Primary Stages, Stella Adler Conservatory, among numerous others, and frequently serves as a guest speaker at universities and programs throughout the country including Princeton, Harvard, Kenyon and SUNY New Paltz. Maria-Christina is dedicated to amplifying and celebrating other BIPOC Artists particularly in the predominantly white institutions she teaches in. She is a frequent moderator, panelist and producer of conversations featuring BIPOC excellence, including an EDI initiative she started at Wesleyan University called, "Re-Evaluating the Ground on Which We(s) Stand(s)." She is the recipient of the Embodying AntiRacism Fellowship,where she has worked with Urban Bush Women and People's Institute for Survivial to cultivate
